Potty Training
Introduction
At HermeierDoodles, we have found that one of the main reasons people don't want to bring a new puppy into their home is because of the struggle that potty training can be. And first time dog owners are usually more apprehensive because they have never had to train a puppy to potty outside. We can't guarantee a puppy will go home knowing to not potty in his new environment, but we focus on teaching puppies to differentiate 4 spaces for sleeping, eating, playing and pottying.

Potty Training from weeks 2-4
Up until 2 weeks of age, all puppies eyes and ears are closed, they crawl instead of walk, and any messes are cleaned up by their mother. From 2-4 weeks of age, a puppy is learning to walk and control when they potty. Also between 2-4 weeks puppies are moved from the whelping boxes they are born in, to 5x10ft or 10x10ft kennels which they will continue to grow into. |
